1st Annual Tractor Ride was a success!

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the 1st Annual Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association Tractor Ride! We had a great time on a beautiful day! A special thanks goes out to Gary Hudgens for letting us use his farm as our Lunch destination. Thanks also go out to Chad Haas for grilling some delicious hamburgers and Clinton Noll for hooking up an old fashioned ice cream maker to his John Deere B and making some great ice cream!

We’re already discussing the plans for next year and hope to make the ride even better. We look forward to seeing you all at the 43rd Annual Texas Early Day Tractor and Engine Association State Show sponsored by Don Ringler Chevrolet and Toyota October 4th, 2014.

The gallery for the show is ready to view and we have a video up on YouTube.

Tree Planting – Workday

The Tree planting workday on 2/22/14 went very well. We had a bunch of help and things went pretty smoothly. All the new trees are planted, we were also able to remove some of the older big trees that were starting to become an issue. Work was done for all the new irrigation, the Bessemer engine had some work done, and the roof of the Ice Cream house got some work and a new coat of paint.

Thanks to everyone that came out and pitched a hand.

Below is a link to the workday gallery and a couple of videos. If you have any photos or video you’d like to add, please send them to [email protected]

We are still taking donations to cover the cost of the trees. To make a donation please fill out and mail the Tree Donation Form (PDF reader needed) or for more information on this or other projects, please contact us at:

Tree Planting Event

Location: TEDTEA Show Grounds
Start Time: 8am
Date: 02-22-2014
Description: Some club members have offered to donate time and materials to plant and irrigate 25 – 3″ live oak trees, approx 8′ tall – around the show grounds where we have lost shade due to the drought the last few years. The only cost to the club will be the purchase of the trees themselves at $60 per tree.

Locations for the planting have already been determined and the club is offering a unique opportunity for members and friends of the club to help with the cost of the project by making an individual tree donation of $60 or more. (As of Feb. 7, there are still 19 trees available).

Any donations to the project are always welcome, but recognition of the individual tree donations will be commemorated by a single plaque with the names off all individual tree donations to be placed in a high traffic area. Opportunity for donations will remain until the cost of all the trees has been covered, so if you are unable to raise the money by the 22nd, but would like to participate, don’t worry, the opportunity remains.

To make a donation please fill out and mail the Tree Donation Form (PDF reader needed) or for more information, please contact us at: [email protected]

CANCELED Christmas Parade Float Decoration

The scheduled participation of TEDTEA in the Temple Christmas parade has been canceled due to lack of participation by club members. We do not have the minimum required float walkers and riders that the City of Temple requires.

Thank you to the folks that did volunteer to participate, maybe we can try again next year.
